The Early Years
Roger and Vicki brought Angel Oak Stitchery to life in late 2015 as an online only store. The store was based in a four bedroom home on about four acres in rural Colleton County South Carolina. As the first year progressed, we started using up the “spare” rooms for the store products.
In 2017, we had the opportunity to have a small 10′ booth at a local quilt show. Having never participated as a vendor at a show, we were a bit intimidated by the idea. Wow, we had so much fun that weekend. On the way home after the show, Roger turned to Vicki and asked “When is the next show?”. And so the adventure began!
Angel Oak Stitchery vended at quilt shows all over the southeast. We vended at fabulous guild and national shows from as far west at Huntsville, Alabama, south to Jacksonville, Florida, and north to Hampton, Virginia. We met so many wonderful people in our travels and made some great friends along the way.Yes, our house felt like one big “warehouse” of fabric and notions.

We all know how the year 2020 affected the quilt shows. Over the year, we began entertaining the idea of opening a “brick & mortar” store. In late 2020, the quest for a building began. In December 2020, we found our building. Built in 1960 as the “Piggly Wiggly” grocery store in Harleyville. After some repairs we were able to access the building April 2021. The fun of cleaning, painting, moving products in, building the cutting tables and main counter, consumed every day of April. We were blessed with so many wonderful friends that worked tirelessly with us. We could never thank them enough. Finally, on May 3rd, 2021, we opened the doors and began our next adventure.
Oh yes, we have the house back! Mostly!!

We offer a large design wall to plan a quilt layout, a spacious classroom and great classes! Come "pet" the beautiful fabrics, we love to help you select just the right colors for your projects.

The 8’x16′ design wall is yours to use (when there is no class in session).Bring your quilt blocks, arrange them into that perfect layout, take a picture and sew. No charge to use the design wall for your projects.
We are a “Learning” shop with wonderful and fun classes.Our classes range from BERNINA Mastery, quilting for every skill level, bag making, machine embroidery, Sashiko, and even Featherweight maintenance.
We are constantly adding new classes for all skill levels and areas of interest to you.
